Volunteering Abroad in Morocco

The opportunity to volunteer in Morocco was a great learning experience. I was able to learn to work through language and cultural barriers. Thankfully, we had one language in common: Play!

My volunteering site was at a children's hospital. The playroom was in its own separate building and patients and families were welcome to come by as they please. We volunteered 5 days a week. The first half of the day we were volunteering while the second half was spend doing cultural learning activities and outings. Evenings and weekends were free for travel.

Here are some activities I put together for the children. These activities were great for encouraging communication and engagement even through a language barrier.
